Does the CIA Operate Their Own Aircraft?

David Kuper: They operate their on aircraft with their own pilots.

Sharron Salin: Depends on how undercover they are trying to be..Yes they have their own fleet and pilots, and have also used military aircraft.Im sure they have even used foreign military aircraft too, but we will never hear of that..

Ninfa Aronica: yes, however in more recent years the US Air Force has taken over their U-2 Dragon Lady's. The CIA does still have recon/surveillance aircraft they just don'tt have a need to use them. The policy in the 1960s was not to have militarypersonnell in a non-combat zone, so the CIA used "Civilians" to fly "non-military" flights (not missions).

Kalyn Proietto: I am not sure, but I can offer personal experience. While volunteering for the CHP we were sometimes tasked with helping FBI and CIA. We'd land on a road up in the hills to drop agents off to assist in drug raids and plantation seizures. Marijuana farms were common up in the remote areas of the! mountains in California. From my experiences I'd guess the CIA does not operate it's own aircraft. Being part of the federal government would put quite a bit of government assets available for utilization for those departments in addition to being able to contract other private (non-conspicuous) companies....Show more

Dexter Gold: Where do you think the black helicopters come from?
