Studying abroad?? Ireland or Australia?

Soraya Coodey: I went to AUS to study abroad last May and they did treat me and the others in my group VERY well. We went to Sydney, which is more of a tourist-y city, but the people we stayed with were very hospitable, as were the people we met during our stay. Both countries are unlike the US in that they are not overly friendly to newcomers, but they are nice if you need directions or assistance in any manner. So, refute the idea that they are not welcoming of foreigners. For the most part, you will have a good time meeting new people. As for your studies, it is an ideal place to go. And it's absolutely beautiful....Show more

Elvin Mannheimer: Go to Australia, simply because its farther and harder to get to. Let's be honest, getting to Ireland is pretty easy-it's only about a 6 hour flight from the east coast. Plus, if you are ever traveling around Europe, you can always hop up there for a short visit. Australia, on the other hand, is quite harder to get to, and not always an easy option for a vacation.

Alane Antes: Australia

Dale Mccoun: Ok it is true that Australians are very very nationalistic and don't like foreigners coming here HOWEVER if you go to the Gold Coast where half the ! people are from other places and studying abroad you will have! an absolutely wicked time. I have friends from Norway, Sweden, German, Spain, Scotland, Malaysia, China, Brazil, Canada and the US. And of course I have friends from Australia as well but the sentiments are still there to an extent. The Gold Coast is absolutely beautiful and while it can get too hot in the summer, it will be fine if you have air conditioning at home. Ireland is cold and rainy....Show more
